Homework

Termly Curriculum Overview

Each term, a Curriculum Overview is shared with parents to outline the topics and subjects being taught. This helps families to have meaningful conversations about school learning and also provides opportunities to support children at home. The overview includes suggested learning activities, with a minimum of one per week, linked to the previous half term’s learning. These are optional, but offer valuable chances to revisit and reinforce key knowledge.

The overview also features a Spelling/Phonics page, highlighting the rules or sounds being taught that term. Sample words are provided to help parents support their children at home. In response to parent feedback, we have included more focus on spelling as part of the homework offering—although these words won’t be tested in school, children are encouraged to practise them at home if they wish.

The curriculum overview includes ideas for home learning linked to class topics, allowing families to explore these areas together if they choose.
